I could imagine that as a designer, it would be quite a challenge to move from one collection to the next and ensure that the two mix seamlessly together. Citta Design has managed to pull this challenge off once again with their 2015/16 summer collection, Patterned Landscapes, inspired by the textures of Mali. Today I’m giving you a little sneak peek of what’s to come!

The choice of Mali as their inspiration merges well with the previous winter collection, Deco Deco, inspired by the city of Paris, which had a few African influences and a warm colour palette.

In Patterned Landscapes, you will find soft rounded lines in warm earthy hues. The graphics are larger with a feel that it was drawn freehand and is a nod to Timbuktu’s distinctive architectural style.

Putting aside the gorgeous colours and patterns, I have a few standout favourites. First up would have to be the Mudcloth Hand knotted rug. Made from100% NZ wool, it’s shown here with the Hem sofa, designed by David Moreland. I’m at the point of updating my living room rug and I’m after a bit of a laid back ethnic vibe, so this one would look great!

Next up is without a doubt the two-tone reversible linen duvet, it’s such a simple, yet clever idea to bring some change to your bedroom décor by choosing the side with your colour preference. You can also turn over the edge and play with the two complimentary tones.

Lighting or lack of can make or break a room so I’m always interested to see new options out there. I do love the warmth that fabric lampshades bring and particular like the form and textured Mono Fabric light shades. The black would be my pick.

Of course there are many gorgeous things in this collection to choose from and most of the accessories are simple and inexpensive ways to update your home for the new season. It will be in Citta Design’s stores and online soon.

Do you see any favourites here?
