blogosphere june love

Welcome to the first day of July! It’s hard to imagine that we’re in the middle of winter here in Auckland, the sun is shining and we’ve got clear blue skies – sunshine is so good for the soul.

Today I have three lovely posts to share with you for my Blogosphere picks for June. The images are all very much of a similar aesthetic funny enough, it must say a lot for the mood I’m in right now…

Have you seen the new column Liz and Jewels have on Decor8?  You may recall them from my 5 Food Questions last year; two girls living on two continents challenging each other on their blog each week with new recipes. Now each month, one of the talented duo will share a recipe on Decor8 and include a short video of the steps in fast motion. You really must see this visually beautiful column for yourself. For the bloggers reading this, there’s a lot of talk going on about this being the future of blogging. Enjoy:

Food In Motion: Summer Berry Cake

Elodie from the Madam Love blog introduced her readers to such a special idea, “The International Lonely Bouquet Day” where one day a year is dedicated to making strangers happy with flowers. I’d never heard about it before had you?  I’ll let you pop over to Elodie’s blog to have a read yourself:

The International Lonely Bouquet Day

Lena from the Mina Moka blog took her readers back to her childhood when she’d visit her Grandmother who’d make elderflower syrup. I loved reading it, her words painted such a vivid picture of her impressions of that time. Even more interesting for me as it seemed so different from my childhood growing up in Australia. Have a read:

Travelling Back In Time

Before I sign off, I’d like to say a big shout out and thank you to I Am The Lab for the including Armoire, Pegs and Casserole in their 25 Fresh Blogs to follow.

See you Wednesday everyone when I’m back with 5 Decoration Questions!

No, I hadn’t heard of the lonely bouquet day but I saw on FB that someone had found a beautiful one at the top of One Tree Hill.. it all makes sense now! What a lovely idea. Congrats on making the list – well deserved!! x

    Hi Mel,
Yes the Liz and Jewels video is lovely, I really like it. I read about the lonely bouquet idea a few days ago, would be very interesting to be a fly on the wall or park bench when it’s found by someone. Must have a read of the Travelling Back In Time story, sounds like a good read.

Thank you so much for including me, Mel – it put a big smile on my face on a grey monday morning! I feel very honoured… I also read Elodie’s post about the lonely bouquet day and thought it was a very romantic idea. I actually left a lonely bouquet on a bench yesterday. I still have to find out if someone picked it up! Will hop over to the Liz and Jewels post on decor8 now, I missed that one! and thank you again!
