On Wednesday evening London time, the AMARA Interior of the Year Awards was taking place in London. For me it was Thursday morning at school and kindergarten drop off time. I had my iPhone close at hand checking my Twitter feed because I was shortlisted as Best International Interior Blogger. I sat back in the car and checked. One by one the winners in different categories were tweeted. Then there they were, the words, “Winning Best International Interior Blog sponsored by Exsus Travel is, Styled Canvas”.
It was one of those slow motion moments. I couldn’t believe it. I’m still pinching myself really. Then I had a good laugh at the irony of the situation. There I was, looking very unglamorous in my car, which my adorable kids tend to mistake for their rubbish bin, while my peers were in cocktail dress at the Ham Yard, London. Oh how I wished I hopped on a plane to London! What an honour!!
This morning I received some photos from the night, which I really enjoyed seeing and I thought I’d share a few of them with you. It looked pretty amazing, like the blog equivalent to The Oscars! I wouldn’t expect anything less from luxury homeware site AMARA who created the awards. They have been so incredibly professional, courteous and organised throughout the entire campaign and now it seems they know how to throw a party!

I spy some of my gorgeous blogging friends at the awards whom I would have loved to have celebrated with. In the above photo there’s Gudy with the pretty iPhone and Geraldine to the right. Below is Emily and Carole to the right.

There are many people behind this award. First up, Guillaume and the kids. They constantly put up with the house falling apart around them (out of photo frame of course) while I get that post off. I never take for granted the support and encouragement I receive from them.
Without the design of the website, I wonder if a lot of my content would be overlooked. With that in mind, thanks to Natasha who designed my logo and style guide and to the amazing Steph, who designed my site! Then there is Jaclyn from Blog Society who I hired as my coach during the rebranding and well, I kept her because I realised how invaluable she is.
To AMARA for dreaming up these awards and celebrating what us bloggers do. To the headline partners of the event Fermdale Hotels and GP & J Baker, my category sponsor Exsus Travel and all of the other sponsors of other categories.
