Easter, along with Christmas, is probably the only time that there’s a bit of silence on the blogosphere. Other than Instagram posts, most bloggers just shut their computers and enjoy the four-day, long weekend with friends and family.
I always look forward to these weekends, complete guilt free indulgence and I don’t mean chocolate here. Indulgence for me is really the simple things, waking up a little later, a long leisurely walk, sitting in the afternoon sun with a cup of tea and reading a good book. Mostly, it’s undistracted time with the family. What about you? What are your simple indulgences?
The other day I received an order from a beautiful ceramicist that I’ve been following for some time, Keiko Matsui, and one of the items was this sweet bud vase. I’m totally in love with it and it inspired me to make this little Easter tree with quail eggs.
If you love ceramics, you should check out Keiko’s Instagram feeds for her latest work, she has one for her tableware and another that she created for her monochromatic decorative pieces. I also did a post on her work some time back which you can see here.

I had a bit of a break myself – its always nice and the extra days off work is wonderful chance to spend quality time with friends and family!
Its Greek Easter this weekend too so Im looking forward to more celebrations!

Happy Easter to you and family Mel. I love the four day Easter break, I find it quiet and meaningful and love to slow cook some lamb. We don’t do any decorating at Easter time. When we were in New York this time last year walking around Brooklyn there were alot of front doors decorated with easter wreaths etc. It looked fantastic. I love your Easter tree, the bud vase is beautiful in it’s simplicity and there is something ‘spiritual’ about it and your photos. Catherine x
