Pink door at flotsam & jetsam Ponsonby

Happy Friday everyone! You know that feeling when you’ve had so much on your plate and then it comes to a close and you can finally relax and take it all in? That’s me today, or rather this afternoon.

Preparing my home for Design*Sponge was a pretty big job and at the same time I created a course for The General Trading’s General Knowledge workshop, along with a 6000 word workbook for the attendees to take home. While I had a lot on, I enjoyed every minute of it.

To be honest, I was a little nervous about presenting the class last night, public speaking has always been a little uncomfortable, but I knew that it was important for me to grow both personally and professionally. Its good to push ourselves outside of our comfort zones sometimes.

What I loved most about last night was hearing about why the attendees wanted to blog. It was so good to watch their face light up and hear about their passion and drive. These girls were so interesting to listen to and they each have their own personal story to tell to the world, which really is the beauty of blogging.

Finally this afternoon I had a photographer come around to take a profile shot of me, but more of that later…

So breath I will this weekend and with a full heart. Here are a few Instagram moments from the past couple of months.

Above, I love how the boys at Flotsam & Jetsam painted their door pink and below a “beer can” style glass that Guillaume bought at that same shop that actually makes the perfect vase.

A cactus on marble and a sweet postcard that I picked up after dining at Depot in Auckland.

… and a little inspiration that I put together in excitement for Denise Vivaldo’s upcoming Introduction to Professional Food Styling here in Auckland early next month. Are you going?

I can’t wait to spend the weekend with these little monkeys especially this Sunday as I continue with my #internetfreesundays.

Happy weekend everyone!

Your experience of feeling the discomfort and doing it anyway is such an inspiration! Well done…I bet you are a total natural at expressing your passion and extending your love for life to others. Thank you for sharing….big hugs, Jocelyn xx

It’s important to do. Being uncomfortable is a good thing and you feel so good about yourself afterwards. So glad I did it because the teaching element I love so much! M xx

I know, it is right? But it was a good way for me to get all of the information out and then select what to put into a 90 minute class. Then I thought, why not give them that too. Happy new week to you too lovely. M xx

So happy for you to have positive feelings from your teaching experience, public speaking is neither my favourite thing to do..
