The Flock Store

I thought I’d use this Wednesday to do a little shout out for a cool little store out of Christchurch called, The Flock. I haven’t stepped into their physical store, however I’ve spent a reasonable time online and I just fell in love with what they do and truly embrace their ethics for the store, showcasing great design that is made with a conscience.

The owners, Emma Smith and Billy Wilson are fascinated with the story behind the makers and their products so you’ll find stunning homewares and ceramics from New Zealand and around the world, all made on a small scale. That’s what we’re loving now aren’t we? I just adore this shift that’s happening in society right now.

The Flock stocks many boutique designs that I know and love like Up In The Air and Gidon Bing, along with a few others that I’ve happily discovered. I also thought the traditional Stanley flask is a nice touch, reminding us to slow down, go for Sunday drives and stop somewhere pretty along the route for a cuppa.

Of course with the genre of this blog, I’m just reporting on the homewards side, however they also have a carefully curated collection of fashion and jewellery, including my favourite necklace of the moment designed and made by Wellington brand, Pieces of Eight that I received as a gift by my husband last year. For international readers, if you’re after some great NZ design, they deliver everywhere!

I hope you pop over to take a peek and don’t forget to say hello and support them by liking their Facebook pageMel xx

Oh yes that Fine Little Day tray is divine (and very you!) and I would have most certainly put it in but I’ve already used it in one of my previous posts – good taste Tina! M xx
