There aren’t a lot of design shops that you walk in to that have the wow factor that Koskela does. When I first entered the showroom I felt almost overwhelmed by the immense size of the space and the amount of beauty that filled every inch of it. Husband and wife duo, Russel Koskela and Sasha Titckosky first opened Koskela in Surry Hills, Sydney back in 2000 and moved into their new space in Rosebery early last year after outgrowing it. I wanted to visit the last time I was back home but never quite managed to fit it in. This time I made it, albeit spontaneously after “The Horse’s Birthday Fete” next door at The School. Thankfully I had my camera on hand to do a little shop tour for you.
The stunning warehouse space was once the original factory of iconic Australian food brand, Rosella. The showroom is flooded with natural light, the highest industrial ceilings and houses sustainable furniture designed and made by Koskela in Australia along with offering an extensive range of homewares. Big supporters of the arts, Koskela also exhibits local artist’s works and runs various creative workshops for their customers.
If you find yourself in Sydney, Koskela is a must visit and make sure you pop into Kitchen By Mike for a coffee or bite to eat afterwards.

Yes loved Koskela when I visited. Did you buy anything there? Isn’t the food at KItchen By Mike soooo tasty and beautifully displayed.

Oh I did, The Horses Fete was fun and in true Megan Morton style! Hmmm the kissing booth – the cowboy was too handsome…
