3 Ways With a Vintage Wire Basket

Have you been admiring the wire basket trend but not quite sure how to use them in your home? Today I’ve got three practical and stylish ideas.

My huge magazine collection is spread all around my house and for some time I’ve been looking for a solution to where I can store them together in an attractive way. This particular wire basket works perfectly, you can fit two piles side by side and my favourite part is that you can see the spine of the magazines, making it easily to find the one that you’re looking for.

Flip it around and you’ve got yourself a table. The wire cage effect looks stunning and quite graphic. To hold a glass you could put a small decorative tray or, get some glass cut to size.

It could also be a cool way to store some of the kid’s toys, and they will have no trouble finding the toy that they’re looking for. Find one that has rounded edges and safe like the one shown.

The vintage wire baskets used in the photos are from The Vitrine Auckland.

You can also read my shop tour of The Vitrine here.

Do you have any ideas for wire basket uses? I’d love to read about it in the comments.

Enjoy your day and see you on Friday!

I recently bought a wired post rack in the same industrial style as the baskets, really like it! You could also use the basket in the kitchen (depending on its size) and put some fresh herbs or large bottles of olive oil in there. For some reason I think they look good in a kitchen too :)

I love those these baskets. I wonder how they keep up in a moist environment like in a bathroom.
Maybe a smaller one to hold the toiletpaper and a large one to store some magazines (love to read on the loo ;-)

LOVE THEM !!! Was hoping to buy some the other day but the store nearby that had them sold out !!
But I found a great alternative on Fab – just need to work on the shipping plan outside the US…

SO – in the meantime I’ll just adore yours!
    Nice.

Great post Mel! I’ve used a couple standing on the short end with flower vase and candlestick in (also did the same with the apple crate!) Evie (my daughter) and I also used one to hang some mobile bird and butterflies from for a school project-gorgeous! I’ll try and dig the piccies out! x
